Church Needs

As a Christian church, we believe we are but a part of the larger body of Christ, the Church, a spiritual family that shares joys, burdens, and responsibilities. We share information about the needs of our church with our members, the Church, and the wider public because we are committed to the principles of honesty, transparency, and communal support. Sharing our needs is not just about soliciting resources or assistance, but it's about fostering trust, cultivating an environment of mutual aid, and encouraging an active engagement in our mission.

We are all participants in God's work, and by sharing our needs, we invite every member of our community to partake in this journey. It not only strengthens the bond within our church community but also allows others outside our congregation to understand our purpose, our struggles, and our faith. Furthermore, it manifests the biblical principle of bearing one another's burdens and thus fulfilling the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).

In essence, open communication about our needs does not demonstrate weakness or lack, but it exhibits our strength in unity, our belief in the power of collective action, and our unwavering faith in God's provision through His people.

Our view of church needs is discussed further in this article.

Our Needs

With that in mind, here are some of the current needs of our church.

⋄ Prayers

First and foremost, we need the prayers of believers in Jesus Christ whether they are part of this church or any other. We have faith that "The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness." (James 5:16)

⋄ Members

We need good and faithful members. Regardless of its size, a church should always seek to increase its membership. (Matthew 28:19-20) We know the Holy Spirit can guide many into the Church each day. (Acts 2:46-47)

Together, prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit will supply these needs.

⋄ Donations

A church has many financial needs. These can be satisfied, not only through the tithes and offerings but also through donations of time, goods and services, and property. Contact us for information about contributing remotely until we can establish a permanent solution that affords both in-person and remote giving.

⋄ Location

We currently do not have a place to meet. While remote, online services have their place, there is no substitute for in-person services. If you are aware of a place we could rent or borrow, please let us know.

⋄ Equipment

Even if we had a location to meet, we have no equipment. Depending on the generosity of any location we secure, we might have to secure A/V equipment, musical equipment, and so forth. For office needs, however, we have limited equipment ready to be donated once we have a place for it.

⋄ Web Assistant

We need a person, preferably a member willing to donate time until we can afford to hire help, with good web creation and management skills. We have this website, a wiki, and a forum already in place, but they all require care and feeding beyond the skills currently at our disposal. We also need to consider moving to cloud-based services, both for scaling and administration.

⋄ IT Assistant

In addition to the Web Assistant, we require someone with broad IT skills. As above, we need a person, preferably a member, willing to volunteer at first. As mentioned above, we need to look into cloud-based services. In the meantime, however, our CMS, wiki, and forum apps are on a web hosting server and need to be looked after.

The Web and IT assistants might be the same person, but experience says that being good at one does not necessarily mean being good at the other.

⋄ Scholars, Editors, Copywriters, Proofreaders

Our web presence – this site, the wiki, and the forum – plus the servers, applications, and content – are so far the work of one person. A thinly stretched person. Members to help with research, writing, and preparing materials for publication, would be greatly appreciated.

⋄ Content Manager

We could also use a focal point for taking the materials above and entering them into the appropriate site(s). This role is not technical and requires only someone with good attention to detail, language skills, and the ability to learn how to use software.

So. Much. More…

The needs listed above only scratch the surface of what will be needed once we have a location and begin weekly services.

It is, however, a start.

For whatever you can do... thank you!
